Age Does Not Matter When You’re Living Your Dream (Time To Change Perspective)

Believe that you are God’s artwork and that you do not have to compare yourself to other people, especially to those younger than you.  No matter what your age is, it does not matter as long as you know that there is still time for you to flip things around and there is still time to live your dream.

We all have dreams, our pie in the sky, a life we want to live, but sometimes life’s inevitabilities prevent us from living that life.  The good thing is that there is always time to sustain your wellbeing in order to live a life that changes your outlook on life.

Make Every Moment Count

According to Dr. Marisa Alter, PsyD, a clinical psychologist, “If you find yourself avoiding parties, work gatherings, or even your own friends and family, there may be a fear of judgment or underlying feelings of inadequacy.” Or maybe, there are maybe things you can no longer do because of your age. But there are still things you can. You may not be able to go up the mountains as you used to, but you can always go to social gatherings and parties and have fun with your friends.

Be Simple

Wearing makeup has been part of the women society for thousands of years.   A beauty enthusiast reminds women that less is more, that a woman in her 40s will be more beautiful with less makeup.  Focusing on enhancing your best asset will make you more attractive.

 Take A Self-Assessment Exam

Taking self-assessment examination like and will help you gauge yourself and know when to start reinventing your lifestyle, nourish your wellbeing, find your real strength, and know your true desires. Find joy in your new you with a fresh outlook on life. As told by John M. Grohol, Psy.D. “These mental health measures included one’s emotional state, mindfulness, resilience, life satisfaction, overall mental well-being, among other characteristics examined.”

Stay Connected

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms are not just for teens.  Stay up-to-date with your family and friends to help keep depression at bay.  Reminiscing about the good old days keeps your mind active and sharp and adds happiness to your day.

Change Your Insight

You either are as old or as young as you think you are because age is just a number as well as merely a state of mind.  Reverse those numbers by changing the way you think about growing older.  A psychologist believes the way you think, behave and see yourself has a significant effect on how you grow older.  Changing your perception of aging by seeing it as an opportunity for growth, creativity, and more freedom will help improve your emotional and physical wellbeing. Marc Romano, PsyD reminds everyone to “Focus on yourself and your own happiness and do not compare yourself to others.”

Joy comes in how we perceive ourselves, not as an older individual who keeps on aging and is restricted in many ways, but as a mature person who learns to connect and socialize and enjoy every opportunity life brings.

Your past can never be changed but you still have your future in your hands.  A new perspective in life that brings happiness will allow you to live a life you have dreamed of.  And even if you were not able to yet you still have time to because no matter what age you are in, it is still the time of your life, own it and live it.

Let us all age gracefully, enjoying life’s simple pleasure.
